Things did take a while to change and not all of the demands were met, but as time progressed, changes were made and the college recruitment numbers for Latino students went up drastically. The overall outcome of the Walk outs was that now we have cinco de mayo to the appreciation on the Hispanic culture as well as the walkouts in 2007 for the recognition of the Cesar Chavez holiday. Now they are happy to say "Viva la Raza"
